What Looks Good

What to do if you cant wear short shorts?

I totally understand that there are mumma's that would never dream of wearing short shorts. Learn what looks good on you and stick with it.

The alternative (because the short shorts, and skirts seem here to stay for awhile) are print pant, pleated pant or the harem pant (all have featured in my recent posts). These are all loose cotton fabric styles that will get you through spring and summer very comfortably and stylishly.

Tips// So mumma's on hot summers days wear them with a loose singlet and cute short necklace, or if it is cooler just pop your favorite blazer over the top of a little tee. Also looks great with a tucked in tee (defining your waist line).

Enjoy more inspiration on cute short shorts (if you can do it) or sweet summery pants. oxo

Colour Key

Colour is making a come back this season. Black and white are still great for your basics. But keep your eyes out this summer girls, for olive greens, reds, stripes are hanging in there, soft colour florals and cute spots (as my recent posts). One of my favorites is olive green, teamed with a flash of white and a tan (fake of course, because you must look after your skin this summer). Enjoy the freshness colour will bring you this summer mumma's.

How To // Pleated Pants

Admire the cute look of spring/summers pleated pants. So, how do you wear them without looking like you have giant hips?

How To Tips:
* wear with a simple button up shirt, plain white tee or singlet
* pleats add volume to your bottom half, so keep your top simple and slimline
* choose your fabric carefully. If you have shapely hips, stiff fabric will prevent your pants from falling softly and creating a slim silhouette
* those with shapely hips, just add heels, the height will make you look slimmer
* experiment with bold patterns
* belt up and tuck in. Girls, this will show off your slim waist line and give you sweet shape
* looks cute with a tailored blazer

Inspire yourselves sweet mumma's with these gorgeous pics.

How to // Tie Belt

Just a little update to your belt wearing... tie and tuck your belt at the front instead of using it the conventional way. See pic for tie inspiration. Cute and quirky... just like you mamma's.

Note... super cute little outfit.

New Look // Old Clothes

Don’t rush out to buy the latest spring fashion just yet. I find that if I wait a couple of weeks, before hitting the shops, I generally make better decisions and choose things I’ll get a lot more use out off.

Sometimes it can be as simple as remodeling some of your old clothes.

Here are some pointers to sorting your old clothes:
Put aside a day to go through all your clothes. Make sure you’re in a creative headspace.

Be ruthless. Get rid of any clothes that are discoloured, or have lost their shape. Don’t hold onto clothes that don’t fit properly or that you know you won’t wear. If you have some good quality and good condition clothing consider selling them on ebay or at a local market (extra pocket money for when you do make your summer purchases).

Do a drawer at a time, and then your hanging clothes. Sort methodically and then the job will not become overwhelming.

Remodeling your old clothes:
I’ll pop some pics up of some cute little outfits that you can make up with clothes you already have. New looks with old clothes.

Old Clothes:
- Button up shirts (checked and floral)
- Short shorts, denim is best (cuff the bottoms or rough up the edges)
- Little floral, spotty, plain dresses
- Winter blazer (just fold up the sleeves)

Some new looks:
- Button up shirt over a loose singlet with short shorts
- Little floral dress with a blazer over the top
- Little black, spotty, plain dress with a tied belt (I'll post some belt tips soon)
- Blazer with short shorts and long oversized tee

Summer 2011// Bike Pants Are Back

Does familiarity make the heart grow stronger?? Sometimes viewing an upcoming trend helps take away the initial shock. With the return of bike pants this summer I needed 'viewing familiarity' to get my head around this latest look. But take a moment to take it in, and soon you'll see them as the super cute shorts they are (and you'll stop imagining yourself in them as a 12 year old, doing gymnastics).

Style Tip // only wear these girls with a baggy tee or button-up shirt, steer clear of anything too clingy on top. The effect, skinny little mumma pegs.

Remember Your Natural Glow

Please meet a truly inspirational mumma Cathra Murray. Cathra became a second time mother only two weeks ago and still managed to be a truly stunning bridesmaid on the weekend. The pictures do not do her justice.

You've never seen a more radiant, naturally beautiful mumma (especially two weeks after having a baby). Seeing Cathra reminded me the importance of encouraging you not to forget your inner beauty (natural glow). Find happiness in the simple, everyday things life throws at you and before long it will be radiating from your skin...And if you still dont feel like you're naturally glowing just add some bronzer.

You can never have too many happy positive girlfriends surrounding you. So remember your natural glow mumma's, and be inspired by Cathra.

In-Betweener Updated

Mummas, I thought I would pop this cute pic up from Juliett K who lives in Poland. She has nailed the In-Betweener look I was talking about in my last post. Enjoy and be inspired by sweet Juliett.
