Pregnancy Diary // 32 Weeks

At 32 weeks not much has changed since last week. Although the weather has been beautiful and getting out for walks has helped keep my mind off the itch. I've been keeping myself busy and thinking less which is helping keep me sane. I even got out in the garden and planted some plants (and the conclusion is.. I'm so not a gardener ha ha).

Note: my pregnancy week clicks over on a Sunday so my 32 week mark is actually last weeks week. Once again I'm abit late to get this post out. Ill try for Monday next week.

32 Weeks
Feeling: Praying for a miracle.
Walk: 3 walks
Weight: 11kg
Look: Nice and full so let the stretching process begin ha ha.

Fashion
This cute white crochet knit was purchased in the early weeks of my pregnancy and I've been wearing it so much. Its perfect for my ever growing belly. I wore this outfit to an engagement party. I wanted to be comfy but also look like I went to some effort. (Anyone who's been pregnant will tell you how hard it is to feel nice in the last weeks of pregnancy.) I wore my crochet knit over a little black fitted slip with my velvet leggings and maroon ankle boots. Anyways hope this look inspires you to make effort even when you don't feel like it.

Pregnancy Diary // 31 Weeks

Sorry its taken me till Friday to get last weeks post to you.

31 weeks along and I've had quite a hard week. The itching I keep talking about was out of control. After many a visit to the doctors, my midwife, the skin specialist and finally the hospital doctor its been concluded that there is not much we can do for my tormenting itch. Its been keeping me up in the nights, making cold showers at midnight a regular occurrence (which is not fun at all in winter). However, I have 9 weeks left and its something I keep reminding myself of. It will all end eventually, and all I can say to that is 'bring it on' mumma's.

Enough with the whining!!

Week 31
Feeling: A little down and out but hopefully the sun will be out next week.
Weight: 10kg
Walks: 0 - due to rainy weather
Look: Getting big now. 9 weeks of growth left.

Fashion
Here is something I wore to a doctors appointment. You've seen this oversized red shirt before and I've teamed it up with a grey Kooki blazer and some leather leggings. A comfy outfit that still gives the appearance that your making an effort. I love blazers and knit cardis at the moment. Divides you into three sections with your middle section (tum) poking out nicely in between. Its getting hard to be creative and comfy but I'll keep doing my best so that you can be inspired.

How To // Dressing Post Baby Body

Dressing a post baby body can be very depressing. So I've come up with some tips for those mumma's struggling in the what-to-wear phase. Plus my younger sister Hanny has volunteered herself as my example for you all.

Hanny had her baby Oscar 6 weeks ago now (wow that's gone fast). While alot of her focus is on her precious little man, she has also had to learn how to dress for her new body shape.

Although the scales read that she's back to her pre-baby weight (yes its a miracle...amazing) she still has a post baby belly. Hanny has always been pear shape, slight on top, flat stomach and curvy legs. So she has had to learn the art of hiding her small tum until she has gotten ride of it.

So mumma's I've compiled a little list of tips for dressing a post baby body. I hope they help you to get your confidence back. Remember its not about how quickly you get your body back. It doesn't happen over night for most of us. So hang in there and just get creative with dressing your changed body. And remember... you will get there eventually.

Some tips for dressing a post-baby body:
* Don't try and fit into your normal clothes too quickly after having your baby. Getting your body back is not a race and you should be kind to yourself in this time of change.
* Go for a more fitted bottom and a baggy top.
* Be fun and creative with scarves, head scarves, cute shoes or heels. It will take the focus away from your little tum.
* Don't forget to wake up and put makeup on. This is how I started my day. I needed a good shower and makeup on.
* Try plain on the bottom and pattered on top.
* Button up shirts are a great for mumma's all round (especially those feeding). Your in luck mumma's because there is so much choice at the moment. Be creative with colours and patterns. (When fashion items dont fit properly opt for fashionable colours and patterns instead.)
* Put cute chunky knit or blazer over your outfit, this dissects your body into thirds (blazer fabric either side of your tee or button up shirt) and gives the illusion of a thinner you. Love this look. (I have been doing this through pregnancy and its a winner).
*Try all black under a coloured blazer, open kaftan's or cardi, this is supper slimming.

Here are two pics of Hanny in a cute little outfit. Button-up shirt with tailored black shorts and pattered stockings. I love the wedge ankle boots too, gives Hanny extra height and makes her look even slimmer.

Plus I've added afew inpirational photos for you. Please understand that Im not putting preasure on you to look like these models, they are just there for your inspiration. Remember to dress in the appropriate size and styles that suit you.

Pregnancy Diary // 30 Weeks

10 weeks to go!!! Watch me grow mumma's.

This week Trev and I celebrated 6 years of marriage. We spent Friday night at home with takeaway and I made the most amazing sticky date pudding with caramel sauce (yum). Then Saturday morning we dropped Charlie off to hang with aunty Esi. We then headed down the coast for brekky at Austimere which was so lovely, afterwards heading to Wollongong to get a coffee from my new favorite cafe/clothing store Lee and Me. It was the most wonderful morning.

Week 30
Feeling: A little tired toward the end of the week, but still comfortable.
Weight: 9kg
Walks: 2 walks
Look: One minute people think I'm looking 'small and compact' and the next minute I'm 'really showing' so who knows how I look. Personally I think I look exactly the same as I did with Charlie at 30 weeks ha ha.

Fashion
I recently purchased this amazing woolly/fur look jacket. Its so much fun. It does nothing as far as being complementary goes (and I may look alittle like a werewolf) but it was so cozy and warm so I couldn't go past it. I'm totally in love with it even if it is crazy. To tone it down I wore all black with a denim open shirt and fun scarf.

Woolly Jacket $25 from vinnies
Denim Shirt from Factory (men's section) $30 on sale
All black underneath

Pregnancy Diary // 29 Weeks

We have arrived at week 29 and the count down is on.

I have exciting news. This week Trev and I bought our dream home. Its a home I grew up playing in, they were neighbours of mine. So the house is very familiar to me. The owner, our neighbour (I'll call her Mrs T) was the most generous person. Mrs T would drop off a basket of fresh scones, cream and jam for our afternoon tea, or pop our school uniforms through her dryer because mum hadn't gotten them dry in time. Mrs T never forgot our birthdays, always wrapping up a little chocolate treat so we felt special. She was selfless, generous, quietly spoken and just an all round beautiful Christian woman.

I want to make that same impact in others lives. I want to always have the time to serve others, and be generous, especially when life can get so busy. So when Trev and I start a new chapter of our lives in this new home on the bush, I want to be all that Mrs T was (feel free to keep me accountable to this).

We don't get to move into our little place for about a year. So when we do I'll keep you up-to-date with the fun renos we'll be doing.

Week 29
Feeling: Feeling good, still with some annoying itching but apart from that its all very exciting.
Walks: 2 walks
Weight Gain: 9kg
Look: Nice and round with the occasional waddle when I walk ha ha.

Fashion
Now at 29 weeks I'm getting a little picky. My skin is sensitive to heat and woolly fabrics (ahhh I have so many beautiful knits but I just cant wear them much at the moment). So this weeks pic is of a beautiful stretch grey dress I bought in a boutique in Coffs. Its got beautiful studded detailing which kind of makes my bulge more emphasised and shapely. I wore it over some black leggings with an over sized cotton cardi and plain white scarf. While this outfit is white plain, I think its perfect for a comfortable day out.

Pregnancy Diary // 28 Weeks

12 weeks to go!! Week 28 was abit of a shocker for our little family. Poor Charlie (my 2 year old) got croup and Trev and I both came down with colds. To top it off I've been itchy in the nights which has prevented me from sleeping properly. So as you can imagine we had a week of TV, sleeping and just staying at home chilling. By Friday we were feeling a little bit better, looking forward to a new week of catching up with friends and getting out and about.

Week 28
Feeling: A little run down. Next week is a new week.
Walks: 2 walks. Didn't get out for a walk until Friday afternoon due to sickness.
Weight: 8kg (guessing again... I'll weigh myself this week, just haven't had the chance).
Look: Definitely gaining size (a little everywhere, as you do).

Fashion
I think I got out of my trackies and comfy lounge-around clothes twice in the whole week. This all in black outfit was made brighter with this cute woolen poncho I picked up recently. This is a new colour for me. Mustard has never really been a colour I pick up off the shelf, but after wearing it recently as a bridesmaid I'm loving it. Nice and fresh and different, and looks good with a block of black to make the colour pop.

Poncho - vinnies for $8
