How To // Dressing Post Baby Body

Dressing a post baby body can be very depressing. So I've come up with some tips for those mumma's struggling in the what-to-wear phase. Plus my younger sister Hanny has volunteered herself as my example for you all.

Hanny had her baby Oscar 6 weeks ago now (wow that's gone fast). While alot of her focus is on her precious little man, she has also had to learn how to dress for her new body shape.

Although the scales read that she's back to her pre-baby weight (yes its a miracle...amazing) she still has a post baby belly. Hanny has always been pear shape, slight on top, flat stomach and curvy legs. So she has had to learn the art of hiding her small tum until she has gotten ride of it.

So mumma's I've compiled a little list of tips for dressing a post baby body. I hope they help you to get your confidence back. Remember its not about how quickly you get your body back. It doesn't happen over night for most of us. So hang in there and just get creative with dressing your changed body. And remember... you will get there eventually.

Some tips for dressing a post-baby body:
* Don't try and fit into your normal clothes too quickly after having your baby. Getting your body back is not a race and you should be kind to yourself in this time of change.
* Go for a more fitted bottom and a baggy top.
* Be fun and creative with scarves, head scarves, cute shoes or heels. It will take the focus away from your little tum.
* Don't forget to wake up and put makeup on. This is how I started my day. I needed a good shower and makeup on.
* Try plain on the bottom and pattered on top.
* Button up shirts are a great for mumma's all round (especially those feeding). Your in luck mumma's because there is so much choice at the moment. Be creative with colours and patterns. (When fashion items dont fit properly opt for fashionable colours and patterns instead.)
* Put cute chunky knit or blazer over your outfit, this dissects your body into thirds (blazer fabric either side of your tee or button up shirt) and gives the illusion of a thinner you. Love this look. (I have been doing this through pregnancy and its a winner).
*Try all black under a coloured blazer, open kaftan's or cardi, this is supper slimming.

Here are two pics of Hanny in a cute little outfit. Button-up shirt with tailored black shorts and pattered stockings. I love the wedge ankle boots too, gives Hanny extra height and makes her look even slimmer.

Plus I've added afew inpirational photos for you. Please understand that Im not putting preasure on you to look like these models, they are just there for your inspiration. Remember to dress in the appropriate size and styles that suit you.
